|Needs Assessment - COMPLETE
The CMS Building Committee was established in the fall of 2015. A comprehensive needs assessment was conducted. Programming, facility usage, and SAU16 demographics were analyzed in detail. Project priorities were identified and potential solutions considered.
|Development of Architectural Plans - COMPLETE
The architectural firm, Harriman and Associates, was hired in 2015. A series of architectural plans were developed and rough budget numbers secured. Building options, budgets, and their ability to fulfill project priorities were evaluated. The committee recommended CMS renovation and expansion using the working set of architectural plans as the most effective balance of building needs and taxpayer cost.
|Community Outreach & Establish Construction Costs - CURRENT
The construction management firm, Harvey Construction, was hired in May 2016 after a Request for Proposal advertisement and candidate interviews. Harvey worked to finalize the architectural plans & develop in-depth building specifications. A proposal including associated budget was presented to the ERCSB in November of 2016. The Building Committee and ERCSB are conducting outreach events to secure community feedback.
|Bond Article Put Forth to Voters - March 2019
Updated financial details for a potential bond will be obtained. After consideration, the ERCSB will put forth their recommended bond &/or warrant articles for voter consideration.
|Construction - Begin Summer 2020
If a Warrant/Bond Article(s) passes in March 2019, expansion and renovation activities will be scheduled to minimize the impacts on student education.
|Project Completion - TBD
Pending the Warrant/Bond Article vote in March, a construction schedule that minimizes the impacts on student education will be developed. An estimated project completion date will be available at that time.
